Bolesław Biegas was a Polish painter, sculptor and writer. ⟵ he looks so happy here

He was born in Poland, coming from a poor family, both of his parents died when he was really young, becoming an orphan. He went on multiple jobs, grazing cattle, carpenter and woodcarver's assistant. During this time, he did carved animal figures, his artistic skills were noticed by a local priest and the writer Aleksander Świętochowski, who later made a public fundraiser for Biegas, which made him able to study at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Sadly everyone were dissapointed despite all the hard work, he was expelled for his sculpture The Book of Life.

At least he still made it by funding his very own art studio and began an independent art career, with the passing of time, he gained his own following and supporters through his new artistic visions.

His work had a mostly surrealist and Symbolist approach, one of his most remarkable works are his series of vampires, detaching from the common depictions of what was a vampire. His vision of such creatures was really grotesque and bizarre humanoid/animal hybrids and shapeshifters, mostly portrayed tormenting humans.
